I am researching and compiling a List of MLM Companies. It is basically a MLM Company Review list. Most companies tell you that you are starting your own business and you are an Independent Business Owner.

I have found this to be a lie, basically. You should be called a Dependent Business Owner (DBO). You see, if you try to make money outside of the company, they don't like that.

So in their policies, they restrict you from doing so. Did you know that? They could "fire" you for violating the policies. For some companies, if you sell anything, you are violating their terms. If you sell anything that competes with them, you are violating their terms.

If you sell anything or anything that competes and it is a violation, are you really independent? No.

That means you are 100% dependent on this company to provide you with product and a paycheck. You also can't leave and take your people with you. Why? Because those people are property of the MLM Company. It is in your terms, you need to read them.

I created this List of MLM Companies to do a MLM Company review to see who allows you to be Independent or who requires you do be dependent.

The information in this Directory was gatheredfrom the policies of each company. This directory is for information only, a general resource file. For specific details, please study each company’s policies separately.

It is highly recommended that you periodically review policies for updates and/or revisions.

Each company is ranked by Levels. This lets you quickly identify how restrictive (Level 0) or how free (Level 3) each company's policy is websites. This is important information to know before you include a company as part of your Monetization Plan.

Example; A companymay be a Level 2 and allow the mention of company name and products upon approval. They also may allow a personal website that doesn't mention the company or products without an approval.

1) LEVEL "0" -Owning your own business site is not allowed.

For example; Melaleuca permits no site of any kind if it is going to be used, in any way, to grow their Mel business. This is such a controlling and archaic way of thinking. This would be Level 0 and automatically makes the company a Not Recommended since it makes working online and becoming an independent business owner impossible.

2)LEVEL "1" - You can have a Web site but cannot mention or link to company's products or opportunity.


3) LEVEL "2" -Your Web site can mention company products/opportunity.

Then there is the company that permits mention of the company and the products. Whether such companies permit it or not, we do not recommend that SBIers make the whole site about the company, as you know, but it does allow SBIers increased flexibility.

4) LEVEL "3" -Anything goes and you can say whatever you like on this site.

This cavalier attitude shows, maybe, a lack of concern of the very real issues and can get you into trouble with the law even if it's OK with the company. This may be seen with young, immature startups who just want to get things going and not really care about the ramifications down the road. In your mind, put a big red caveat against these.
